GeoNerds in the Wave
Yesterday Google released Wave to 100,000 people to preview. Â Previously I had sandbox access, but was looking forward to widerspread release so I would have more people to play with in the waves.
This first thing I did was to create a public geonerd wave.

At the time of this screenshot you can see I’m a little lonely. Â Once you have access “with:public tag:geonerd” is the search you need to find it. Â Please add/edit as you see fit. Â I’ve started with “you might be a geonerd if…..”

Hi Kate,
Sad to hear you have no friends on the wave
I did register my interest way back when but didn’t make the beta – I wondered if the Wave would work for (in GIS speak) web based editing? People could mark up the map, make amendments, and have the changes recorded in the wave? A wave for maps?
All the best,
Rob
Rob,
There is some editing of maps in the Wave. At the moment it is a little bit clunky if two people try to zoom or pan the map at the same time. Though drawing on the map or adding pushpins works fairly well.
Hope to see you in the wave soon,
-Kate
